We are quite excited about Max, he is shaping up into our ideal type of Golden. He loves the show ring and has, had an impressive debut in the ring where he 'shows his socks off'! He already has won at Group level at Championship shows and followed his Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandfather by winning the Group at Maudie Burke's 'Guide Dog Show'. At the Newtownards Championship Show in Feb 2010, Glynis Massey (Seamourne) gave Max Green Star Dog and BOB he was only 16 months old. He achieved his Junior Champion title under Frank Kane at the Combined International Show in April 2010 having won five firsts with 'excellent' grades in junior classes at IKC Championship Shows. In April Max entered the UGRC Championship Show and under Mr Everett Massey won the Junior Class and as a result qualified for Crufts 2011. Max also competed with the Junior Bitch winner and was awarded the Avoncraig Cup for Best Junior in Show. In
early June 2010 Max again shone in the ring, at the Munster Championship Show
under judge Colette Muldoon he won his Intermediate Dog class, the Dog Green
Star (his second) and Best of Breed. We were then delighted when he went
reserve (G2) in Group 8 gundog, losing to the eventual BIS winner the American Cocker
champion San Jo's Born to Party. The following day at the Cork and
District Championship Show he took the Reserve Green Star, his uncle Charlie
winning the Green Star. In early July Max took his third and fourth Green
stars at the Bray Championship Show and the next day at the Irish Ladies Kennel
Association.
He took his fifth Green Star at the Dun Laoghaire Champ show on the 1st August. Judge Sandra Whelan (Sandseers) gave him his sixth Green Star on the 2010 Munster Circuit where he won six firsts out of six in Yearling, he also picked up another Reserve Green Star at Tralee under Børge Espeland (Norway). Max's seventh Green Star and his title came at the South Tipperary Canine Club Champ show in April 2011, where judge Carole Coode (Warringah) gave him the Open Dog class and the Dog Green Star. We withdrew Max from show activity in 2012 at his last show at the Tralee Championship Show he won the Champion's Class and was also awarded the Green Star, a nice way to end his show career. We are grateful to Margaret and Stephen Joy for allowing GB Sh Ch Shardanell all that Jazz to give our Delia such quality puppies, thank you Murphy. In February 2010 we had Max's hips scored and were delighted that they came back 4:3 the same as Delia his mother we are fortunate that Riverdance dogs have always had better than the breed average hip scores.
